MADISON - Barbara A. Prescott, age 78, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at Oakwood Village Settlers Ridge Apartments. She was born on May 5, 1944, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Abner and Ethel (Finke) Prescott.
Barbara graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1962. She continued her studies at Madison Business College. Barbara worked for the duplicating service within the UW-Madison campus for 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Skilaufers Club, an outdoor and social club in Madison and a lifelong member of Monona Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Barbara enjoyed knitting and often donated afghans and shawls to a variety of charitable organizations. She also liked traveling on cruises and taking group tours internationally and within the United States. National parks were her favorite destinations.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Beverly (Rod) Peloquin; nephew, Paul (Donna) Peloquin; three nieces, Michele (John) Wiitala, Sharon (Eric) Jaeckle and Shannon (Michael) Blankenship; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Abner.
A private grave side service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Monona Evangelical Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
