Dawn Marie Wilcox

Cottage Grove - Dawn Marie Wilcox, age 59, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, at 7:15 a.m. She was born on July 1, 1963, in Wisconsin Rapids, the daughter of Edwin and Mary (Erickson) Zimmerman.

Dawn graduated from Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids. She attended the University of Wisconsin and earned her bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University. She married Timothy Wilcox on July 24, 2014, in Madison, Wis.

Dawn was a beloved friend and employee of our First Business family for 26 years.

Dawn was kind, funny, and had a caring, giving heart. She was a hard worker and highly self-motivated, never letting anything stand in her way. Helping people to reach their full potential through mentoring and support gave her great satisfaction.

Some of Dawn’s favorite hobbies were interior design, boating and golfing. Dawn enjoyed traveling, especially her recent trip to Graceland and Nashville. She was an avid Packers and Badgers fan and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Time spent next to the pool, listening to music and dancing was relished. She was always busy.

Dawn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Family was everything to her. She loved to host family holidays and special events, especially pool, Packers, Badgers and annual 4th of July parties. She treasured the time she spent with her granddaughter, Arcadia.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Timothy; son, Jordan (Michelle Brandemuehl) Siewert; granddaughter, Arcadia Marie; son, Evan Siewert; step-sons, Nick and Nathan Wilcox; mother, Mary Zimmerman; four sisters, Donna (John) Lacher, Delain Arnold, Diane (Sonny) Walker and Darla Zimmerman; three brothers, Dani Zimmerman, Doug Zimmerman and Darin (Jo) Zimmerman; sister-in-law, Barbara Zimmerman; and many beloved family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Zimmerman; sister, Debra Plawman; brother, David Zimmerman; brother-in-law, Craig Arnold; and nephew, Dougie Zimmerman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Family and friends who wish to view the Mass via LIVE STREAM may visit Dawn’s obituary page at www.gundersonfh.com and click on the Live Webcast link at the time of the Mass. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Monday.
