FITCHBURG - Marilyn Joanne Larson, age 82, of Fitchburg, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at Sienna Meadows in Oregon, Wis. She was born on March 29, 1940, in Viroqua, Wis., the daughter of Leland and Marjorie (Forde) Knutson.
Marilyn graduated from Viroqua High School in 1958. She married Thomas Larson on Nov. 29, 1958, in Viroqua. She worked as an accountant for Easter Seals for twenty years, retiring in 2000.
She enjoyed golfing, shopping, traveling, road trips and cruises. She was an avid reader who enjoyed classic love stories. Marilyn loved spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed Badgers sports, Packers, and the Brewers. Marilyn and Tom also enjoyed living in Venice, Fla. for 11 years after retiring. She was an active volunteer for Easter Seals for many years.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Thomas; two sons, Jeff (Donna) Larson and Kevin Larson; and grandchildren, Michelle (Jeff) Morris, Kristina Vande Zande and Brett Larson; and great grandson Vincent Morris. She also leaves behind brother Gary (Pat) Knutson; and sister Tammy (Jeff) Murphy; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Marjorie; and her grandson, Erik (Jonna) Larson.
The family wishes to thank Agrace HospiceCare and Sienna Meadows Memory Care for their compassionate and loving care they gave Marilyn.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
