Grace L. Peterson

MOUNT HOREB - Grace L. (Ihus) Peterson, age 93, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Dodgeville, Wis. She was born on Dec. 3, 1930, in Blanchardville, Wis. the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Arntsen) Ihus. She attended Blanchardville schools.

Grace was a tour guide for Little Norway for 16 years. She also worked for the voting polls in Barneveld for many years. She was a lifetime member of Perry Lutheran Church and belonged to the Clay Hill Circle group. Grace was a member of Sons of Norway and Birch Lake Homemakers. She made many friends while living at Homestead Cooperative Senior Living. She loved to travel and her family were most important.

Grace is survived by her children, Trudy (Jerry) Tibbits of Mineral Point, Janean (Phil) Wyse of Platteville, Rollie (Ginny) of Mount Horeb, Tracy (Sue) of Ridgeway, and Carissa (Jason Pfister) Peterson of Waunakee; grandchildren, Tim, Mike, Brad, Justin, Alyssa, Wade, Jenna, PJ, Ashley, Sarah, Jesse, Kim, Mary Lee, Weston, Maynard and Brody; 26 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Susan Peterson; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard; parents; son, Randy Peterson; and three brothers and four sisters.

A funeral service will be held at PERRY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1057 WI-78 Trunk, Mount Horeb, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, with Pastor Kelli Fischer presiding. Burial will take place at Perry Lutheran Church Cemetery, with lunch and fellowship to follow. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

In lieu of memorial funds, Grace would consider the gift better used if you called a friend, went to lunch, and celebrated life.
