ELMHURST, Ill./Madison, Wis. - Norman A. Kimble, age 88, passed away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022. He was born on March 30, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Glenn and Lillian Kimble. Following high school graduation, Norman proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Norman was united in marriage to Martha Wasson on Jan. 15, 1965, in Nuremburg, Germany.
He continued his studies following the war and graduated from the University of Southern Illinois and did further M.A. and Ph.D. studies at University of Chicago.
Early in his career Norman worked in Washington D.C. for the NSA in the field of cryptographic coding and radio signals intelligence. Norman later worked as a nuclear power plant inspector at Braidwood Nuclear Power station in Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 2910. Norman enjoyed the simple things in life and being with his family.
Norman is survived by his daughter, Valerie Kimble; son, Erik (Annette Chen) Kimble; grandchild, Sinclair Kimble; and sister, Glenna Cholakian. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Kimble; and brother-in-law, Jack Cholakian.
A private graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Town of Springdale, Wis.
