Obituary
MOUNT HOREB - Kent Norman Johnson left his home on earth on Sunday, July 17, 2022. He was born on Aug. 19, 1966, the beloved son of Kenton and Jenny Lou Johnson, and brother of Rod (Bonnie Zimmerman) of Black Earth and Dustin (Rachael) of Blue Mounds. Kent spent most of his life in Mount Horeb until his passion for boating and fishing led him to weekends in Sheboygan and winters in Cape Coral, Fla.
The wilderness of the UP attracted him to attend Suomi College, Hancock, Mich. He attended Southwest Tech for Police Science, obtained his Captain's license and did taxidermy for his hobby.
Kent was a man who enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing with friends, family and even by himself, as Kent was also a quiet man. He enjoyed working for the DNR Parks Department, Gander Mountain and spent several years on the DNR Fire management crew.
Kent was a generous friend to many and a kind, loving soul. He adored his nieces, Rowan and Maren Johnson and spoiled his nephews, Curtis, Tyler, Beau and Cole Johnson. Kent was all about showing and giving love to others, especially his mom, Jenny. He showered others with gifts and gave of himself endlessly. People often didn't understand Kent and would finally realize his gifts long after they were received.
Kent was happy when you were smiling and our memories of him will reside in the soft folds of our hearts.
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022. A burial for family and friends will be held at the Linden Cemetery in Linden, Wis., at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
