Obituary

Magdalena came into this world like a shooting star. Her energy and presence was well known when she was around the people that she loved and cared about.

At an early age, Magdalena showed signs of a fierce, strong-willed, and independent personality. Her strengths were being charming and sensitive to others. She was imaginative, passionate and curious.

Magdalena demonstrated and enjoyed athletics such as soccer, swimming, tree climbing and skateboarding: she was an absolute Tomboy. She also loved and enjoyed baking and trying out new recipes.

She was going to be a sophomore in the fall. Some of her academic traits included being an AVID scholar, writing and literacy, arts and music, especially creative writing, artistic sculptures and artistic designs.

Magdalena was an amazing support system for her Friends and Family, she was very proud of her Mexican heritage and her culture: She was a proud Latina girl.

Although Magdalena had a long struggle and battled with her mental health for many years, she always tried to find joy in life. She is survived by her father, Jose; her mom, Marcela; and her brother, Mateo.

A private visitation and service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Care.

In lieu of flowers, we would like to honor Magdalena’s beliefs and support around social justice. We ask you to please donate to the local organizations that support the following groups:

LGBTQ+, Women's Rights, Planned Parenthood, Minority Groups especially the Black and Brown community, or Sun Prairie Area School District-Department of Systemic Equity and Inclusion for the creation of a Coalition of Latin American Students at each high school and middle school, as well as local Mental Health organizations.

We appreciate all the support from Friends, Family, and people around the community that knew and loved her. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
