MADISON - Marcia Stone, age 83, of Madison, Wis., passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022. She was born on Jan. 17, 1939, in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of Harold and Tillie (Vosko) Prupas.
Marcia eventually moved to the U.S. and lived in multiple states including Florida, Washington, California, and Nevada, before settling in Madison to be closer to family. During her career, she worked in several high-profile positions interacting with both the general public and celebrity figures. A portion of her life was spent working with non-profit organizations.
Marcia was one classy lady. She had a keen fashion sense, and she knew appropriate social protocols for any event. She looked beautiful right until the end. The day before she passed, a hospice nurse who met her for the first time had commented privately that Marcia looked like she was in her 50s.
She was a force to reckon with at times, and she could be incredibly persistent and dedicated to achieving her goals -- a truly impressive quality. The Calvin Coolidge quote beginning with, "Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence...." epitomizes Marcia's determination.
Marcia is survived by her sons, Bradley Stone, Stephen Stone, Michael Diamond and Darren Glickman; her daughter-in-law, Lori Diamond; and her grandchildren, Sophia “Ash” Stone and Sasha Stone.
She will be missed.
A private memorial service will be held in the near future.
