Annette Sue Bright

CROSS PLAINS-Annette Sue Bright, daughter of Edwin and Hannah Wiverstad, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer, at Wickshire Assisted Living. Annette was born and raised on the eastside of Madison. She married Jerrold Sullivan and had three sons, Michael, Gerald “Rusty,” and Robert.

Annette married Richard “Bruce” Bright in August of 1984. They lived in Middleton until Bruce’s passing in 2020. The two of them loved taking trips out west, their beloved pets, and NASCAR races. Much like her father, Annette had a great sense of humor and loved to pull pranks on her family.  She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially around the holidays. Annette loved to decorate her home for every holiday and you could always find little bowls of candies in every room, much to the happiness of her grandchildren.

Annette is survived by her sons, Michael Sullivan (girlfriend, Sharon Liddicoat) and Robert Sullivan (Ann);  grandchildren, Morgan (Connor) Wipfli, Mckayla (Tyler) Harris, and Mackenzie Sullivan; and great -granddaughters, Karsyn and Rory. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Rick (Sandy) Bright and Joel (Tracy) Bright; and step grandchildren, Benjamin, Katherine, Madeline, Georgia and Spencer.

Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; son, Rusty; parents, Edwin and Hannah; and two brothers, Richard and Russell.

The family would like to thank the staff at Girlie Manor assisted living facility, UW Hospital Madison, Agrace HospiceCare and the staff at Wickshire Madison Senior living.

God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be.

So he wrapped his arms around you,

And whispered, “come to me.”

You didn't deserve what you went through, so he gave you rest.

God’s garden must be beautiful,

He only takes the best.

And when I saw you sleeping,

I could not wish you back

To suffer that again.
