Erik Kardasz
July 16, 1968 - July 10, 2022
Obituary
STOUGHTON-Jon “Erik” Kardasz, born on July 16, 1968, moved onward into peace, Sunday, July 10, 2022, while surrounded by family and loved ones. Erik was born from the union of LeAlyce and William John Kardasz: A blend of two hearts which formed the foundation of Erik’s soul.
In high school and early adulthood, Erik was active in the performing arts through singing and acting. For those blessed to have heard his singing, Erik revealed his gifts of expression as well as his passion for sharing.
A lover of nature, with a sound understanding and respect for its balance, Erik worshipped trees, birds, the stars, and the geography beneath his boots. He held a special regard for all animals, wild or tame, and with the latter, that love was returned tenfold. Erik also had a strong attraction for natural history, cultural and geographic. Through the meshing of these passions, the present and the past, Erik possessed a unique ability to relate to others. This quality, paired with his direct sense of humor, rewarded him with relationships rooted in honesty and love.
Though ongoing battles helped to hurry his passing, Erik’s selfless kindness, genuine personality, and generous heart are held fast in those who knew him. Erik is both loved and missed.
Erik is survived by his mother, LeAlyce Kardasz; brothers, William Robert (Laura Lob) and Jeffrey Scott Kardasz; favorite uncle; Robert P. Kardasz; and numerous cousins.
Erik was preceded in death by his father, William John Kardasz; his maternal and paternal grandparents; dear friends, Jeff and Dean; and his surrogate grandmother, Gladys Hartwig.
