Garrett William Lawrence

MOUNT HOREB - Garrett William Lawrence, age 40, entered eternal life on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 3 p.m. at UW Hospital in Madison, Wis.  He reached out for the hand of Jesus as his loving family held his hand on earth below.  

Garrett was born on July 1, 1982, in Richland Center, Wis., the son of Bob and Shirley (Wilson) Lawrence. In September of 1982 he moved with his family to Alburnett, Iowa, where he lived until October of 1996.  In October of 1996, Garrett and his family moved to Mount Horeb, Wis., where Garrett graduated from Mount Horeb High School in June of 2000.

Garrett began attending Madison Area Rehabilitation Center’s services in 2002 and enjoyed his 20 years of working in the various programs they offered. His community jobs included Mount Horeb Plumbing, work for Attorney, Mark Rooney and most recently the Mount Horeb Public Library.

Garrett is survived by his parents, Bob and Shirley; brother, Glenn (Jenny) and nephews, Jake, Geoffrey and Jayden; and brother, Jonathan (Kris) and nieces, Hayley, Dani and Alyssa. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty and Eldon Kenworthy and Isaac and Ruby Lawrence.

A funeral service will be held at NEW HOPE EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 639 S. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
