Obituary
BROOKLYN - Jeffrey Roy Skalsky, 58, of Brooklyn, passed away in the early morning of Friday, July 8, 2022, at home surrounded by his family after battling cancer.
Jeff was born on Jan. 14, 1964, in Sheboygan, Wis. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1987 and went on to work for Wisconsin Department of Revenue where he was employed for 25 years. He married the love of his life, Caroline (Nink) Skalsky, in fall of 1993, and together they raised their six children.
Outside of work, Jeff could be found attending his children’s sporting events or working on bicycles. He converted to Catholicism in 2002 and developed an appreciation for the Traditional Latin Mass. He was known by his friends for his sense of humor, and as a family man. No matter how hard he worked, he always made time for his children's activities.
Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Joanne Skalsky; and his stillborn son, Jack.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline; children, Madison (Zach), Samuel (Hannah), Elijah, Isabella, Gabriel and Cecilia; his grandchildren, Madelyn, Nathaniel and third grandchild arriving in September. Jeff is also survived by his sisters, Debra Martinelli (friend, Jack) and Kathleen (Doug) Kelm; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, Wis., from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., with a Rosary to follow on Thursday, July 14, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3673 CTH-P, Cross Plains, Wis., at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022. Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to attend a luncheon at the St. Mary's gymnasium.
