MADISON - Kari Anne Hanusa, age 38, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was born on May 5, 1984, in Green Bay, Wis., the daughter of Steven and Elaine Hanusa.


Kari lived a full life with her son, Jackson, being the joy of her life.


Kari is survived by her mother, Elaine Hanusa of McHenry, Ill.; son, Jackson Hanusa-Sauer; brother, Josh Hanusa of Round Lake, Ill.; sisters, Stephanie and Chenyu (Lui) of New Mexico; grandmother, Judy Sauk of Cottage Grove, Wis.; many aunts, uncles, cousins; and her two cats. She was preceded in death by her father, Steven Hanusa; and grandparents, Leo Sauk, and Betty and Carl Hanusa.

You have my deepest sympathy! Kari was one of my closet friends! We met at Flowerama many years ago where we worked together and instantly became friends! We lost touch for a couple of years and then ran into each other and discovered we both had our due dates on the same day 7/11/2016 but she ended up having Jackson early! We both had beautiful baby boys who instantly became great friends! Kari loved the outdoors, and was so creative! She was so talented in flower arrangements and loved to have a garden! We loved planning play dates with our sons and tried to get together for a lot of outings each season! Rest In Peace Kari! We love you so much! You are missed dearly!
