Obituary
OREGON- Rodney Edwin Nedlose, age 92, of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at home. He was born on April 1, 1930, in Oregon, Wis., the son of Hans and Ottilia (Ludwig) Nedlose.
Rodney attended Oregon High School with the class of 1950 and served in the U.S. Navy. He married Joyce Gallitz on June 5, 1965.
Rodney had various jobs over the years. He was employed with Laid Law where he drove individuals with disabilities to school. He worked at Bancroft Dairy and Omar Bakery as a delivery driver. He was a member of the Carpenter Union and spent many years working as a carpenter in the private sector as well as the VA Hospital. Rodney also worked at Benjamin Plumbing as a delivery driver, making sure to get needed supplies to plumbers working on the job. His also babysat his granddaughter, Melissa, and her dog, Angel.
Rodney loved fishing, and sharing the escapades of catching fish….especially the times where he fell into the water! He loved collecting everything and took much pride in keeping his yard and flowers in pristine condition. Rodney was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and the VFW Post 328 in Stoughton. He enjoyed going to the VFW for meetings and activities and drinking with his buddies. He loved the adventures that went along with taking bus trips, but his greatest most unforgettable adventure was going on the Badger Honor Flight with his daughter, Kelly.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; sons, Randy (Lavonne) Nedlose and Jeff (Tracy) Nedlose; daughters, Yvonne “Vonnie” (Tom) Bushar and Kelly (Tom) Monson; granddaughters, Jessica (Adam) Gross, Darcie Sudenga, Jamie (John) Wilkemeyer, Sara Nedlose, Erika Monson and Melissa (Sam) Immenshuh; grandsons, Rodney Nedlose, Matthew Nedlose and Ryan (Kulani) Monson; great-granddaughters, Ana, Kylee, Kaci, Madelyn and Josie; great-grandsons, Donovan, Nolan, Cyrus and Alexander; sister, Carolyn Zweifel; brother, Paul (Amanda) Nedlose; brother-in-law, Sid Waldorf; many nieces, nephews and adopted people; and his beloved canine companion, Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Ottilia; brothers, Jerry, Duane and Ted Nedlose; sisters, Audrey (Al) Turk and Pat Waldorf; brothers-in-law, Wayne Zwiefel and Corliss (Eleanor) Gallitz; nephews, Robert and Lavern Nedlose and Jim Waldorf; and loyal canine companion, Coco.
A celebration of life will be held at VFW POST 328, 200 Veterans Road, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2022, with a luncheon to follow. A visitation will be held at the VFW from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday.
Memorials may be gifted in Rodney’s name to St. Johns Lutheran Church in Oregon or VFW Post 328.
