Pamela Eileen Bennett

MADISON - With one last whisper of “I love you,” our cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Pamela Eileen “Pam” Bennett, age 90, entered her Heavenly Father’s arms, surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, after a brief illness.

Pam was born on Sept. 30, 1932, in Burnham, United Kingdom.  She met the love of her life, Arnold Bennett, when he served in the U.S. Air Force while stationed in the UK.  They married on Nov. 19, 1955, in Bagthorpe, UK and expanded their family with four children while traveling extensively around the world during Arnold’s 21 years of service.  

Arnold and Pam could be found dancing together in the kitchen, enjoyed weekend dancing venues and traveling.  Pam lovingly cared for Arnold at their home during his illness and they celebrated 44 years of love and happiness before Arnold passed in 1999.

Pam’s loving nature was also extended to animals, and she accepted every stray her children brought home to add to the menagerie of horses, dogs, cats, rabbits and reptiles.  Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have so many wonderful memories of Pam’s loving attitude, wonderful sense of humor along with her excellent baking, sewing and knitting skills.  So many fond memories made during family gatherings and celebrations; especially grateful for her 90th Birthday Bash.

After being a nurturing stay-at-home mom, Pam worked at Swiss Colony where she forged some close friendships.  She maintained contact with close friends made during years of Arnold’s service.  Pam and her childhood friend, Diana, had written monthly letters to each other for over 70 years.

Pam was also very passionate about the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers and was fortunate enough to attend a few games in person.  She would be found decked out in team gear watching her favorite teams play on tv.

Pam is survived by her loving daughters, Stephanie (Harlan) Ott and Connie (Robert) Geishirt; her six grandchildren, Blaine (Maren) Ott, Jared (Kelly) Ott, Megan (Tyler) Biggs, Justin (Jessica) Lathrop, Lindsay Bennett and Ryan Bennett; eight great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Arnold II and Norris along with her son-in law, Robert “Bob” Geishirt.

Special thanks to daughter, Connie, for lovingly taking care of mom the past few years along with help from family friend, Lisa Krause.  Pam’s family is very thankful for the compassionate support and care received from the aides that assisted in Pam’s care at Heritage Senior Living, Monona and to Agrace HospiceCare during her final days.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison at 10 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of service on Friday.  Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park following the service.
