Obituary

COTTAGE GROVE - After a long battle with mental illness, Stacy Lynn Wilcox, age 49, of Cottage Grove, passed away on her own terms on Saturday, June 18, 2022. She was born on Sept. 20, 1972, in Madison, the daughter of Terry and Deborah (Friede) Wilcox.

Such a beautiful soul, she could light up a room. She always made everyone she met feel special. I first met Stacy in my early 20s and loved her immediately. Her love and light will be missed

Debbie, Terry and Kurt - I was so saddened to hear Stacy is gone. She was my best friend in elementary school, and beyond, and some of my very fondest childhood memories are filled with her. So many sleepovers and days spent playing atari or in your backyard on Wendy Ln, horseback riding at Hoofbeat Ridge and getting lost in the corn field behind your house in CG . I loved her so and truly regret that I lost touch with her as we went into adulthood. I'd hear about her from time to time from mutual friends, that she was doing well, that she was a momma to a beautiful little girl, that she always stayed close to home and her family. I was sure I would run into her at some point but never really did other than one or two times in our early 20s. My prayers are with you, that you all find peace and comfort in your many memories of such a beautiful, shining soul. So much love to you all, as you always showed to me. ~ Carrie (Meyer) Lehman
