Obituary
JANESVILLE - Sharon Lee Byrd, age 85, of Janesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at her home. She was born on May 11, 1937, in Janesville, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Gerrad) Graves. She married Donald Byrd.
Sharon graduated from the Madison School District and received her associate degree from Blackhawk Technical College, later working for WPS. She was a member of the Madison Eagles Club. She enjoyed going to the casino, gambling and playing bingo. When she retired, she traveled all around the country stopping at casinos along the way. Her favorite trip was when she went to Hawaii.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Sandie (Brian) Thrasher and Darlene (Bill) Short; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Adrianne (Walter) Krohn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, David Byrd; daughter, Charlene Martin; brothers, Harold and Robert Graves; sisters, Betty Butler and Trudy Graves; and her love of 25 years, Royal Severin.
A graveside service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK chapel, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022, in the chapel. Immediately following the service, appetizers will be served at CHRISTY’S LANDING, 2952 Waubesa Ave., Madison. A private visitation for immediate family will be held at the chapel at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
