Patricia J. Stanis

BAILEYS HARBOR - Patricia J. Stanis, age 89, of Baileys Harbor, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Crossroads of Sun Prairie. She was born on Nov. 15, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Key) Smith.

Patricia graduated from St. Scholastica High School in 1951. She attended some classes at DePaul University where she met Eugene Stanis.  They were married June 21, 1952. Patricia loved being a homemaker for 34 years and later worked as a secretary for Eugene Field School.  She volunteered with the Angel Guild at Door County Memorial Hospital and at The Clearing where she assisted with adult education.

Patricia loved all of her kids and grandkids very much. She loved all the Disney characters, especially Mickey Mouse. Her favorite hobby was cross stitching, and she made a Christmas stocking for each of her family members which will be forever cherished.  Patricia loved getting together with her cross-stitching friends and Bunko girls to visit and have lunch.    

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Mary (Glenn) Stenholm and Beth (Dan Roanhaus) Buri; five grandchildren, Jenny (Noel) Olson, Brian (Ragen) Stenholm, Becky (Rob) Kern, Katie (Dave) Tobin and Mike (Emma) Buri; nine great-grandchildren, Mikala (Andy) Ness, Jordan Olson, Erin Olson, Tenley Tobin, Marvin Kern, Tessa Tobin, Tatum Tobin, Amelia Buri and Taylin Tobin; one great-great-granddaughter, Marleigh Ness; brother-in-law, Richard (Reita) Stanis; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; and parents, Joseph and Mary.

A private memorial service will be held in August. Memorials may be gifted in Patricia’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
