Obituary
MADISON - Brenda Jean (Bushmaker) Sischo, age 82, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, with her family by her side. She was born on May 11, 1940, in Wisconsin Rapids, the daughter of Paul and Renata (Wittenberg) Bushmaker.
Brenda married Merrill "Corky" Sischo on April 14, 1962, kicking off a lifetime of adventure. She was a proud graduate of UW-Madison and served the UW as Interior Designer in Planning and Construction for many years. With her husband Corky, Brenda embraced a variety of activities, including National Ski Patrol, Curling, Wilderness Canoeing, and XC Skiing. After retirement, she lived part time in Ontario, Canada, where she and Corky had a second career running a "fly-in" fishing business. Throughout her life, she also had a passion and talent for quilting and knitting and a love for her dogs. Brenda was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, and she adored her neighbors and friends, living a remarkably active and social life right up until her passing.
Brenda is survived by her children, Jeff (Pam) Sischo of Oak Creek and Sarah (Mark) McGuire of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, Maddie (Mike) Dockry, Caitlin (Nick Flatt) and James McGuire, and Jordan and Andrew Sischo; one great-granddaughter, Eloise Dockry; and brother, John Bushmaker of Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill (Corky) Sischo.
A service will be held at MIDVALE COMMUNITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4329 Tokay Blvd., Madison, at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022. Visitation will be held at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
