Kristi L. Peckham

WINDSOR - It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved Kristi Leffler Peckham. Kristi passed away at home on May 28, 2022, of pancreatic cancer. Kristi was born on Nov. 18, 1954, at Boscobel Hospital to Maurice and Anne (Waterman) Leffler.

Kristi enjoyed a great childhood growing up in Fennimore. She graduated from Fennimore High School with the class of 1972, which will be celebrating its 50th year class reunion in August, an event Kristi was looking forward to. After her graduation from FHS, Kristi attended what is now known as Southwest Tech in Fennimore, graduating with a business degree. She then worked at Southwest Tech from 1973 to 1979. She worked several different jobs there until becoming the book store manager. Kristi moved to Schaumburg, Ill., for several years with her daughter Jennifer until moving back to Wisconsin, settling in Sun Prairie. In 1982, Kristi started her employment at General Casualty Insurance Company, now known as QBE. In March of this year, Kristi retired from 40 years of dedicated service all with the same company.

Kristi met the love of her life, Don Peckham, and moved to Windsor, Wis. The couple were married in their home on Lake Road on March 24, 2006. They enjoyed 16 happy years with their blended families. Kristi’s number one joy was her immediate and extended family. Other joys were gardening, canning and especially flowers. Also shopping! Kristi recently had the joy and happiness of shopping with her daughter Jennifer for the many flower plants she placed around their home every year. The best joy of all was a rare, beautiful May day watching her daughter Jennifer and Don’s daughter, Amanda, repotting her plants and placing them around their home. Her young grandchildren also helped - occasionally.

Kristi leaves behind many who knew and loved her, including her husband, Don Peckham, Windsor; daughter, Jennifer (Rob) (O’Flahrity) Neveu, Kimberly; grandchildren, Drew (fiancée Kolby Fieck) Madison, and Sydney and Morgan, at home; Don’s daughters, Aimee Peckham, Dane, Amanda Kelley (Johnny) and their sons, Keegan, Bronson and Brycen, Lodi; siblings, Linda Stephenson, Karen Rosemeyer, both of Fennimore, Connie (Jim) Gaddie, Kingman, Ariz., Dave “Adolph” Leffler, Madison, Sara (Larry) Strang, Boscobel; Tom (Deb) Leffler, Madison; 10 nieces and nephews; 27 great-nieces and nephews; and five great-great-nieces and nephews.

Kristi was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Anne Leffler Sr.; brother, Maurice Leffler Jr.; grandparents, Hugh and Florence (Peat) Waterman and Bob and Sarah (Pendleton) Leffler.

A funeral service will be held at FENNIMORE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1450 Second St., Fennimore, at 12 noon on Saturday, June 18, 2022, with Pastor Bud presiding. Burial will be held at Prairie Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the church. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Kristi was the friendliest, good natured, loving and giving person ever. We are all richer for having Kristi in our lives. She will be greatly missed. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
