Obituary
MADISON - Steven Sweeney, age 68, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. He was born on May 30, 1953, in Madison, the son of Richard and Marie (Wittman) Sweeney.
Steve graduated from Madison Edgewood High School in 1971. He worked as a project manager for ADT Security for over 35 years. Steve was an active and proud member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. He recently came to know the Lord on a deeper level which brought him peace.
In his younger years, Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing. When his daughters were younger, he was involved in their sporting events. Steve was also an avid Badgers football fan and enjoyed camping and fishing trips to Grand Rapids, Minn.
Steve is survived by his two daughters, Kaitlyn (Jason) Clayton and Laura (Mike) Stark; four grandchildren, Isaac Clayton, Henry Clayton, Grace Clayton and Faith Clayton; four brothers, Dave (Sandy) Sweeney, Jim (Beth) Sweeney, Chuck Sweeney and Joe (Jenny) Sweeney; three sisters, Connie (Joel) Alberti, Judy Sweeney and Carol (Craig) Albright; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandchildren, Hadley and Noah Stark; and his parents.
A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 12 noon until the time of the Mass on Thursday.
