Laurentino L. Bravo

STOUGHTON - Laurentino Lee “Larry” Bravo, age 33, of Stoughton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. He was born in West Palm Beach, Fla., on June 5, 1988, the son of Allen and Sylvia Helley.

Larry was in all aspects and truly “a chip off the ol’ block.” Larry was indeed an obstinate man, however, he was a loyal, faithful, gentle soul, with a loving and caring spirit - just like his dad who preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 2021.

Larry was the third child of four. He had an older brother Christopher, 41. The bond that he had with his big brother was formed out of great love and respect. Larry’s love for his big brother, Christopher, is beyond and above words. The relationship that he had with his big sister, Alice, 38, was so unique, so rare because they shared the same likes and dislikes, same interests in foods, books, music, and more. Moreover, Larry took great pride in having taken after his big sister’s character and personality. Unfortunately, he only had one sibling younger than him, only one of three whom he could boss around. Although Larry was four years older than his little sister, Shannan, 30, their relationship subsequently grew into a very close BFF relationship. Larry loved all three of his siblings so very much, yet he loved them all uniquely and individually different.

Everyone who knew Larry knew he was a “mama’s boy,” a title he wore proudly with everything vested in him. He truly, truly loved his mother, Sylvia. Larry became a father at the age of 25 to a beautiful lil’ baby girl, Paisley Charlotte Rose Bravo, born on Feb. 6, 2013. A very proud father, her birth helped to subsequently mold him, transforming him into a perfect 50-50 co-parenting father. Paisley essentially gave Larry a purpose to forgive and rebuild, to hinder grudges from the past and allow mending and patching up old relationships with friends and loved ones.

Larry loved being a dad to Paisley. Proudly spending Father-Daughter Day-amongst a host of other school functions. Playing video games were good pastimes. Taking their beloved dog, Geri, for walks and going on bike rides were something they enjoyed doing daily, weather permitting. Teaching Paisley how to play chess was quite an achievement when subsequently he lost one of several games to his baby girl. However, Larry still loved playing checkers with Paisley on a regular basis.

Larry worked as a pharmaceutical technician at Walgreens for one year, moving on to working as a pharmaceutical consultant at Mendota Mental Health for two years. Larry began his CNA career at Nazareth in Stoughton in 2014, where he remained until 2021. Skaalen would be Larry’s last place of employment. Larry’s career as a CNA gave Larry a rewarding sense of purpose. He treated each and every patient and all residents with such compassion and genuine TLC. It was no wonder why new residents would request Larry to be their CNA immediately upon arrival. Larry gave more of himself - spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically - than most CNAs. Larry’s legacy continues to give; even in death Larry is still giving of himself.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Paisley; mother, Sylvia; sisters, Alice Bravo and Shannan Helley (Jason); brother, Christopher Melendez; and Paisley’s mother, Casey Baumgartner. Larry loved all his cousins especially, Bobby Helley, Troy Hinkel and Vanessa; nieces and nephews, Austin, Andrew and Addison, Atticus and Zander; and aunts and uncles. However, there is one soul for whom he reserved a very special spot in the very core of his heart, his aunt, Trudy Helley. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Helley.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at The Otis Sampson American Legion Post 59, 803 N. Page St., Stoughton, from 12:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Larry’s Passing had such an impact on SO, SO many people from the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, South Carolina, Florida, Texas and Mexico. All these people loved Larry with special love and will mourn his loss. Our hearts will not ever be the same again.
