COTTAGE GROVE - Sarah M. Williamson, age 59, of Cottage Grove, Wis., passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at home. She was born on March 29, 1963, in Green Bay, the daughter of William and Sarah "Sally" (Pichette) Benz.

Sarah grew up in the Green Bay area where she attended Green Bay East High School; and then later UW-Green Bay. She married her husband Jeffrey "Jeff" Williamson on July 16, 1994.

Sarah enjoyed running, shopping, fashion, and chatting with her many friends and relatives. She made the best home-cooked meals, and loved to cook for others. She could often be found at the kitchen table sharing a story and a laugh. Perhaps her biggest passion was for her family. She loved big and unconditionally.

Sarah is survived by her husband Jeff; two sons, Joe (Amber) Dorschel and Brian (Rachel) Dorschel; daughter, Grace (Tyler) Rickert; two sisters, Barb (Mark) Thaldorf and Susan (Phillip Caron) Benz; four brothers-in-law, Tom Williamson (Linda), Jim (Ellen) Williamson, Mark (Lori) Williamson and Steve Williamson (Robin); and three sisters-in-law, Ellen (Doug) Hess, Sue (Gary) Elder and Barb (Carey) Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, William "Bill" Benz.

There will be a private ceremony held Friday, May 20, 2022, for close family.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Sarah. She was such a big part of the Halverson's life growing up that we considered her one of our own. Sarah was the center of attention, charismatic, fun, caring and a person that will remain in my memory forever. Her impact on my life and that of the Halverson family will never be forgotten.
