MCFARLAND - Theodore “Ted” Williams Sr. passed away at home Sunday, May 15, 2022, from heart failure. Ted was born March 24, 1930, in Sauk City, the only child of Albert and Lettie (Sorg) Williams. He had an idyllic childhood surrounded by the love of his parents, and the beautiful nature of Sauk County and the Wisconsin River.

Ted excelled in everything he did and had a full, rich life. He participated in all sports in high school as well as sang in the school choir. He could build a stone wall and capture remarkable scenery with his camera. He was a Madison firefighter and an award-winning sales rep for the Gordon Flesch Co. prior to being sales manager. Ted had a thirst for knowledge and didn’t stop learning, including keeping up with the digital age of computers and everything technical.

He married the love of his life and best friend, Jeanne Shapiro, on Oct. 7, 1988. Their blended family includes surviving children, John, Andrew, Andrea, Matt, Tony and Kathi; grandchildren, Toni, Nick, Abbey, Chris, Dustin, Josh, Gina, Kyle, Haley, Cole, Jak, Londyn and Sam; and great-grandchildren, Shelby, Evelyn, Nicholas, Max, Lyla, Noah, Rosalyn, Alyson and Cosette, plus two more arriving next month; and lovable dog, Toby. Family celebrations and holidays were important to Ted with their large family and he also enjoyed the company of Jeanne’s siblings and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sons, Ted Jr., Tom, Bill, Dave and Mike that left a huge void in his life.

Memorials may be directed to Agrace HospiceCare with our thanks and appreciation.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Side Club, 3735 Monona Drive, Madison. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
