- Bob Nelson was simply the kindest person I have ever known. He treated everyone with deep dignity. That can only be something learned.
He went to church every Sunday, and lived that service, the other six days of the week.
He gave of his time and shared with everyone, what he believed.
Him and Redgy cultivated gardens of distinct beauty for all to see. That was their gift to the world, all four seasons.
I appreciated everything he did for me. He left this world in a better place then how he found it.
My Brother helped Bob and Redgy for many years. As of lately, Scott would sit at his bedside; offering him the same kindness, he received. He considered it an honor to share his time and wealth of his spirit.
May his soul be at rest and full.

Bob and I met in our first class on our first day in high school. I was astounded that he lived across Lake Shrangri-La from me and we soon became the best of friends. Bob's dad gave me the nickname "Irish" and I have remained "Irish" to all my high school friends. The two of us stayed at each other's houses, ran our race boats all summer long and scared the beejesus out of each other in an iceboat that I built.
We remained close through our first two years at college, Bob at Madison and me at Whitewater, but I got drafted and married and we didn't see each other much for a while. We met again at a class reunion and ended up with a group of Central alums that got together at least once a year for the next forty years. Each time I saw Bob, we didn't share much in the way of memories as talked about our current lives and plans.
Bob was one of the central figures during my entire life. He was always happy and, sharing his good mood, made others around him happy, too. I miss him terribly.
