Obituary

Gale Dawn (nee Scovill) Raisbeck, age 58, formerly of Monona, late of Poynette, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Jan. 31, 1964, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Roger and Carolyn (Larson) Scovill.


Gale graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1982. She continued her education at Madison Area Technical College and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Gale worked at Skaalen Nursing Home for 25 years and at Belmont Nursing home for eight years. She was involved with Girl Scouts and became a leader. She was an avid bowler and a lover of many cats and dogs.


Gale is survived by her daughter, Brittany (Eddie England) Raisbeck; sisters, Linda (Dorian) Brazy and Georgia (Stephen) Waters; brother, Dale (Vicki) Scovill; nieces and nephews, Grady (Tasha), Renee, Brenda (Todd), Matt, Amanda, Kyle and Eric; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and beloved dogs, Maverick and Goose. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Carolyn; and niece, Jenni Lippitt.


A funeral service will be held at ST. STEPHEN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022, with the Rev. Elisa Brandt presiding. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
 

In memory of her love of animals, donations may be gifted in Gale’s name to the Dane County Humane Society.

With deepest sympathies, I will always treasure the adventures our two families took together and never once had a boring trip, from fishing hooks casted into my foot to sherriffs on my hood, we always had so much fun. You will be missed greatly! Can't wait for our next adventure on the other side.

As we struggle to maintain our distance, words are never enough when all we want to do is to give one another a hug. Memories flood our mind and perhaps, your knees are trembling at your sledding hill. Our grandparents always said we would meet again at the picnic table, just move over. Gale will be missed til then. May God hold you in the palm of his hands.

Man did we ever have fun sledding down her backyard hill. It was steep! And I’ll never forget the swing set in her basement… I thought that was cool! She was a neighbor friend and a church friend.❤️

Ouch! Linda. So sorry to hear that you have lost your sister Gale. She was very dear to you. Linda, You also moved from your old place on N. Fifth Street in 2022, so you are experiencing a lot of changes and quite a bit of sorrow. I saw you at St. Bernard Cathedral, and you looked like you were still grieving. No more Dorian.
