MADISON - Charles Emerson “Charlie” Reid, age 57, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He was born on June 15, 1964, in Golden Valley, Minn., the son of Norman and Elizabeth (Croal) Reid.
Charlie graduated from Cooper High School, Minn. and UW-Madison with a bachelor's in history and psychology He married Karen Kallick on September 20, 1997.
He was a member of Essen Haus Stein Club
Charlie loved to play. He played soccer for the UW Madison, 56ers, and United. Charlie was a larger-than-life individual and always tried to change the world for the better. He enjoyed camping and fishing, had an artistic eye, he was a great photographer, and loved music. Charlie put his family before himself to raise his twin sons.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Emerson P. Reid, LCpl. Brooks N. Reid, Cody L. Smith and Curran D. (Kris Martin) Smith; four brothers, Michael (Kate) Reid, Jeff Reid, Tom Reid and Rob (Jill) Reid; and two sisters, Nancy Reid and Wendy (Lily) Reid. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date
