Obituary

MIDDLETON - Regena M. Prieve, age 72, of Middleton, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at UW Hospital. She was born on Aug. 18, 1949, in Hudson, Wis., the daughter of Richard and Ethel (Algren) Hanley.


Regena graduated from Hudson High School in 1968 and attended UW-River Falls and MATC.  She worked as a registered nurse for UW Hospital and Clinics for over 30 years.


Regena loved her family very much. She dedicated many years taking care of her granddaughter, Amber, and supporting her children throughout their lives. Regena enjoyed traveling and taking adventures with her husband, and they adored spending time at their cabin together. She loved her dogs and enjoyed reading, watching football, and going to church.


Regena is survived by her sons, Noa (Barb) Prieve and Nicholas Prieve; sister in spirit, Jill Fisher; grandchildren, Amber and Molly; brother, Richard (Mary Ann) Hanley; sister, Rena Peterson; sister-in-law, Irene Prieve; and many dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband.


A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 3 p.m. on Friday June 24, 2022. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the start of the service on Friday.

I will never forget Reg’s beautiful smile. I worked with her for years since I started at UWH in 1978. I saw her transform from a great NA into an awesome and caring RN. Rest easy, Reg, you deserve it.
