I hunted and fished with Mike and his dad. Mike was a teacher of my 2 sons. Mike was my little league coach. Mike was and always not just a relative and mentor, but a friend. Rest in peace my friend.

Dear Esser family, Sending my most heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your dear brother. Mike was my American Studies teacher at Kromery Middle School and also know him as my sister-in-law Patti's big brother. I'm keeping you all in my prayers at this difficult time. Sincerely, Mary Bellissimo Battista

Mike and I worked together at Kromrey Middle School. On a teacher work day I joined him and some other friends for lunch at the Sport Bowl. I ordered a pizza burger for lunch. Needless to say it wasn't very good and Mike just got on to me later, "Who goes to the Sport Bowl for lunch and orders a pizza burger?" I learned early on Mike was great at teasing and joking around with and we became fast friends. I moved away from Wisconsin in 1996. Mike and I stayed in contact through phone calls and emails all these years. Mike and Mary even visited me and my family in Kansas on their way to visit their son Scott in Colorado. That visit meant a lot to me and I enjoyed showing Mike and Mary around the Kansas City area. He especially enjoyed the Steamboat Arabia exhibit that showed artifacts of pre civil war life in America. I am going to miss my friend during football season as we had an intense rivalry going between the KC Chiefs versus the Green Bay Packers. In closing, Mike was a true friend and gone much too soon. I am going to miss him and our banter when we used to call one another. I wish his family peace and their hearts to mend with great memories of this man. Hugs, Lori Koch
