Sheryl, we met at the check-in line for law school and you became my first friend in Wisconsin, probably my best friend! Your obit paints a picture of how I will always remember you as a joyous Wisconsin farm girl looking forward to her next adventure! To your family, know that Sheryl will be missed widely, probably further than you know. For all others reading my rough words...read hers, and maybe you'll see what I deeply admired about Sheryl: she was full of life, courageous, giving, and above all present for each of us.

My deepest condolences to all that knew and loved this feisty woman. I had a chance to work with the Agriculture Maven back in 1986-87 when we worked in the Republican Assembly Caucus. She was a force to be reckoned with and channeled that knowledge and passion into a successful career as a state legislator. I loved running into Cheryl at numerous events over the years. She always had time to catch me up on stories of her son and husband. May God give you peace and the knowledge that tonight this good woman is flying with the angels…well…at least the Republican ones! God’s speed dear Cheryl.

I did not know Sheryl, but she sounds like an amazing person. Writing her own obituary gives a unique perspective to her life and I found it to be very touching and honest. RIP. Jeff Sundby
