Shawn Caesar Knox Jr.

MADISON- Shawn Caesar Knox Jr., age 27, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022. He was taken too soon from this earthly world and is now with his maker.

Shawn was born on April 4, 1994, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Shawn Knox and Wendy Thompson. He graduated from OFS Operation Fresh Start in 2012.

Shawn will be fondly remembered for being protective and having a fun-loving sense of humor. He enjoyed listening to music and was a talented music writer.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his three children.

Shawn is survived by his children, De'Marion, Derek "Baby Shawn" and Ariyah; mother of his children, Nicole Andruss; parents, Shawn C. Knox Sr. and Wendy Thompson; nine siblings, Nathan Thompson, Ezzard Purdue Jr., Robbyn Cloyd, Shawn "Little Shawn" C. Knox Jr., Dominque Stewart, Eric Williams, Jamari Travis, Jason Knox and Robert Cloyd; maternal grandfather, Louis Ziegler Sr.; paternal grandmother, Mae Campbell; and stepmother, Vivian Beard.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Truzella Thompson; paternal grandfather, James "Chuck" Campbell; and stepfather, Robert Cloyd.

A Funeral Service will be held at CHRIST THE SOLID ROCK BAPTIST CHURCH, 4200 Buckeye Road, Madison, at 5 p.m. on Thursday April 21, 2022, with the Honorable Rev. Everett Mitchell presiding. A live stream of the service can be viewed on the church's Facebook page. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, and also from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at church.
