George was always very helpful in the operating room. He never failed to answer a question or lend a helping hand when needed.

I met George in the late 60s through my older brother Mike who was friends with him and Andy. George and Andy were kind and good friends to my brother, who had schizophrenia. George was soft-spoken and a little quirky--I remember that he sewed his own clothes and was a pacifist. If memory serves, he spent time in prison for sending in his draft card. I admired his conviction. I've thought about him over the years and am happy to know that he had a rich and fulfilling life and send my condolences to his family. Patti Kennelly Sinclair

George and I met while OR Techs in training at UWHC about 1968; we worked together again in the mid 1980s, a little bit under the supervision of Dotty, Barb and Pam. George was patient, intelligent, conscientious, had admirable personal values. George also had a fine sense of 'humerus'! My heartfelt condolences to George's family and to Andy. George lived in a manner that should have assured him another 25 years. It's sad to lose a good person so soon. Allan Deptula
