Mr Vallee, you rock! That’s what he used to tell students and write at the top of their papers. He had a way of making school fun and making students feel confident about their abilities. He saw the good in people and helped others in times of need . Both of my girls were lucky enough to have him as their 5th grade teacher at Thoreau, and I was lucky to be his colleague later on. I’ll never forget the time he met his 5th grade class at the Cherokee sledding hill on a December snow day. He created a lot of joy and opportunity in the daily life of those around him (particularly his students and their families) and the world is brighter because of him. We are so sorry for your loss, Sally, and the whole Vallee family. With love, The Hodgson’s- Steve, Gina, Ellie and Adrienne

I had Mr. Vallee as a computer teacher about 25 years ago. I always remember his magic coloring book—how the pages would be empty, then he'd flip through and they'd be magically filled in and colorful. As a second grader, that completely blew my mind and I would be at the edge of my seat trying to figure out how he made it happen. Sending my thoughts and prayers to his wife and family. -Kathryn F.
