FITCHBURG - Lai Hy Tran, age 64, of Fitchburg, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on July 1, 1957, the son of Sen Tran and Van Ung. Lai is survived by his loving wife, Kin; brother, John Tran; and sister-in-law, Nini Tran.
A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Dear family of A Lai: we just learned of A Lai’s passing. We are devastated at this tragic news and distraught that we were not able to attend his celebration of life. We knew A lai from his first days in Madison. In the 1980s and 90s he was a welcomed friend at many of our family get togethers and back yard bbqs. In more recent years we didn’t see him as much but we always ran into him at Asian Midway Foods and always enjoyed hearing his critiques of the latest Packer game. A Lai’s life story, his dedication to his family and his capacity for hard work was inspiring. He was a great man, a close snd treasured friend and we will dearly miss him.
