Vurdette was in my Class of 1965 at Blue River High School and everybody loved him. We were together in sports, where he did very well, especially wrestling. We also were a part of a small group of guys who, well...liked to howl at the moon, to put it mildly. Rest in peace my friend. Ken Nimocks

I only knew Vurdette from Pick N Save . Never called him by name, just "young man" in return he replied "young lady". During the pandemic (masks and all) he was a highlight of my day. I was so sad the day he retired. Now I know the why behind the his choice. Rest in peace "young man". You are missed. Joan

Elane, Rhonda, Michelle and your families- we were so sad to hear of Vurdette’s passing. We only heard a few days ago and am so sorry we weren’t in touch. We remember so many fun times with you two at the sport bowl. Vurdette always kidded me that he was younger than me and it took many years before I found out he was kidding! Vurdette had such a kind and thoughtful heart. Always there for whoever needed a helping hand. We will miss the old days but have so many wonderful memories of good times. We loved him and all of you. Mike and Nan Shaffer We’ll See you tomorrow
