Obituary
SAUK CITY - Loki Pierce Linzmeier, age 14, took his own life on the evening of Thursday, March 3rd, 2022, in his home in Sauk City. Loki had been so close to starting testing and therapy to help him learn the tools to navigate the beautifully unique brain he had so he could excel in life the way he deserved to. Unfortunately, a permanent solution to a temporary problem took him away from his family and friends in a split-second impulsive decision that we know was not planned.
He was born on January 28th, 2008, in Norfolk, Virginia to Keena Linzmeier and Alicia (Kemp) Linzmeier. Loki currently attended Sauk Prairie Middle School in Sauk City where his warmth and compassion expanded his social circle every day with new friends.
Even though the family had only moved to the community less than two years before, Loki was well known for his smile, long fiery red-hair and gentle heart. There was never a short supply of appreciation and shared experiences of his kindness, empathy and politeness from every individual he interacted with.
Loki could most often be found at the George Culver Library reading or playing Roblox, in the Whisker Lounge at Animal House Pet Supplies donating his hard-earned chore money to support to care and adoption of their cats and kittens or racing his bike down the trails with one or many of his friends. He adored playing video games and taking long, music-blasting car rides with his father, talking and texting his mother loving messages and silly memes, playing board games and watching horror movies with his stepmother and poking and prodding his sister whenever he could get away with it.
He cared very deeply for his cousins and took great care of those younger than him with genuine interest and involvement in their hobbies and play time. He’ll be greatly missed by many friends who considered him family as well as a very large immediate and extended family who loved him so deeply that we’ll carry this loss in our hearts forever.
Loki is survived by his father and stepmother, Keena and Ashley Linzmeier; mother and stepfather, Alicia Linzmeier and Amos Cartwright; sister, Chloe Linzmeier; feline siblings, Reign, Maggie, Wren, Sorcha and Freya; paternal grandparents, James Linzmeier and Nancy Linzmeier; maternal grandfather, Gene Kemp; step-grandparents, Jim and Judy Gartmann; and great-grandmothers, Gladys Heelein and Judy Lutz. Also lovingly survived by many many many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, Frank Heelein and step-great-grandfather, John Lutz.
Visitation will occur following Loki’s cremation at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 157 S. Main Street, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Tuesday March 8th, 2022. There will not be a structured service, so come as you are able and stay as long as you’d like. There will be a candlelight ceremony in Jaycee Park in Sauk City at 7:00 PM following the visitation to light up the darkness for our beautiful boy.
