Obituary
LODI - Kimberly D. Chrisler “Sawdust”, age 68, of Lodi, passed away from a medical condition unexpectedly on Sunday, February 27, 2022. He passed away doing what he loved, fishing on Lake Wisconsin. He was born on July 23, 1953, in Portage, the son of LaDelle and Betty (Berg) Chrisler.
Kim was a 1971 graduate of Lodi High School. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he was an aircraft armament specialist, until his honorable discharge in 1979. Then working in the construction field specializing in concrete. Kim then owned and operated his own business until he retired in 2016.
Kim was an avid outdoorsman, and especially loved fishing and hunting. Hunting moose, bear, and of course white tail deer. A known fishing guide on Lake Wisconsin and loved fishing in bass tournaments with his fishing buddy “Chainsaw” and other fishing buddies.
He was a much-loved father and grandfather. Spending time with his grandchildren was the highlight of his later years. He loved teaching them how to fish and telling them all of his stories. He never lost his childlike spirit and that really came out while playing with his grandkids. The last seven years of his life he struggled with his sight. Even being legally blind he was determined not to let the disease keep him from doing the things he loved. He was a great example to always make the best of things and that will live on in all of us.
He will be a greatly missed father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Kim is survived by his only child a daughter, Bethany (Tim) Gricus; co-grandparent, Karen Chrisler; four sisters, Betsy Jane (Jim) Fleury, Cindy (Mike) Fobes, Jane (Dan) Pechauer, and Marcia Shimnock; brother, Danny (Judy) Chrisler; mother, Joyce Steckel; and four grandchildren, Emma Mills, Owen Gricus, Joseph Gricus, and Jakob Gricus. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Mike Sharpee.
To honor Kim’s wishes the family had a private visitation. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
