Obituary

MADISON - Judith Kay Torres, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, at UW Hospital. She was born on July 9, 1946, in Richland Center, the daughter of Edward and Eva (Moore) Schultz.


Judy graduated from Villa Maria Academy in Frontenac, Minn. She married Pedro Torres on Sept. 20, 1968. She worked as an administrative assistant for MATC.


Judy loved traveling with Pedro throughout their 54 years of marriage. She was an amazing cook and loved reading mystery and westerns. Judy was an amazing mother and was a strong, grounded woman. She loved her dogs very much and cared for them greatly.


Judy was so loved and will be deeply missed by her husband, Pedro; daughter, Wendy (Shawn) Ward; grandson, Hudson Ward; and siblings, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Eva Schultz. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I am so sorry to learn of Judy's passing. We were neighbors living on the east side of Madison. I have fond memories of traveling to New York with Pedro, Judy, and Wendy to visit Pedro's family. Judy had a big, big heart and I was very fortunate to have known her. My heart goes out to Pedro, Wendy, and the rest of Judy's family.
