I will always remember the first time I met Josh. He was playing first base on a ball diamond in Oregon. My son and Josh were close friends and always goofing off together. Not on that day. I was the first base coach for the other team so I figured I would ask Josh if he thought our batter at the plate had a chance. He looked at who it was and as it turned out is was my son Ben. Then he looked at me very intensely and said” not a chance”. I don’t think he knew who I was? Anyway he stood on the field ready. My son Ben was not the best hitter. But on that day he crushed it. As Ben was running the bases and rounded first past Josh , Ben and Josh slapped hands in celebration. Then Josh looked at me and shrugged his shoulders with a huge smile. I could not resist placing that in my heart. Several years later I asked Josh about it and he remembered that day. We started laughing so hard And could not stop. I never told my son what Josh said before he hit that ball. We kinda kept that between us. R.I.P Josh. Hope to see you sometime in the other side.

I remember Josh as a special 5th grader in my class. His big warm smile is what I first picture in my mind when I think of him. I also remember him sharing the meaning of his "gotcha day" and celebrating it with him. I remember him being a kind compassionate person. He loved spending time with the guinea pig we had as a class pet :) My thoughts and prayers are with Josh and his family!

To the families of Josh Rudolph. I am so sorry to hear about Josh. I have some great memories of 'RUDY' when he attended RCI. We would always have something to laugh about. We would talk at school or at the corner when he was going home. I will always remember his wonderful smile. He was kind and genuine. He always had time to stop and chat even when he was older. I am very lucky to have a job that allows me to meet so many great kids. Josh was one of the best. My deepest sympathies to all of you. Jim Snow.
