DEERFIELD - Barbara A. Hatton, age 82, of Deerfield, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at Larson House. She was born on July 4, 1941, in Madison, Wis. Barbara graduated from Fort Myers High School in Florida. She married Richard “Dick” Hatton on March 23, 2002.
Barbara worked as a head secretary at Farm & Fleet for over 15 years prior to retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed making blankets, playing cards and scoping out garage sales, but most of all she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very caring person.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Barbie Spangenberg; sons, Gary (Debbie) Poley, Jim Poley and David (Jamie) Poley; stepdaughters, Kathy Bedner and Carole Taylor; stepdaughter-in-law, Lisa Hatton; stepson, Richard (Crystal) Poley; sisters, Darlene Bartz and Sandra O’Neil; brother, Sanford (Vicki) West; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Robert Bartz; stepson, Ricky Ellis Hatton; granddaughter, Jodi Schoenemann; and stepdaughter, Sherri Schoenemann.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 4 p.m. on Friday Feb. 2, 2024. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
