Obituary
MADISON - Donald F. Jenkins, age 91, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022. He was born in Glenwood City, Wis., to Francis and Ann (Aebly) Jenkins. Donald married Frances Sellers on May 29, 1953, and they lived in Cottage Grove for over 50 years.
Donald worked for IBM for 30 years and was also a crop farmer. After his retirement, he taught math and science at the St. Therese Academy, as a volunteer. Donald was also a volunteer maintenance worker at Nazareth House in Stoughton.
Donald is survived by his wife, Frances; children, Maria (Jay) Huston, Michael (Linda) Jenkins, Teresa (Jim) Brown, Rita Herrmann (Frank), Joseph (Jill) Jenkins and Christina Walter; son-in-law, Jeff Wantrobski; siblings, Marianne Johnson, Gilbert (Della) Jenkins, Joan Reinhardt, Robert (Judy) Jenkins, Dianne (John) Rothfork, Frances Gillespie, Ann (Frank) Friendshuh and Kathleen Jenkins; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Wantrobski; grandson, Jeff Jenkins; sister, Patricia Knapp; brother, Jerry Jenkins; brothers-in-law, Larry Johnson, Dave Gillespie and Dick Reinhardt; and sister-in-law, Donna Jenkins.
A Latin Mass will be held at ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH, 434 N. Main St., Cottage Grove, Wis., at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, with Father Brian Dulli of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Father Keith Dean of St. Theresa Catholic Church concelebrating. Burial will follow at Cottage Grove Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the church. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, preceding the Mass, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com <http://www.gundersonfh.com>.
