Obituary
MADISON - Todd David Anderson passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022. A Madison, Wis., native, Todd attended East High School and enjoyed all things Wisconsin had to offer - boating, fishing, his Harley Davidson, the Wisconsin Badgers, and of course, the Green Bay Packers. All those who knew Todd, knew that martial arts were his true passion. He traveled the world learning and teaching, sharing his gift of teaching Matayoshi Kobudo and Shorin Ru Karate. Being honored as “Sensei Anderson '' was his greatest pride.
Todd is survived by his partner, Carole Seeliger and her children, Kari (Carter) Seeliger and Jessica (Justin) Schmitt; his mother, Patricia Anderson; brother, Kyle (Courtney) Anderson; and sister, Lynn (Mike) Christoph. Todd remains lifted in love by his grandchildren, Rachael, Keeley, Layla and Cataleya; numerous nieces and nephews; and his karate students and karate family. Todd was preceded in death by his father, Robert Anderson.
A memorial service will be held for Todd at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. Donations to the Goodman Center can be made in Todd’s name at 214 Waubesa St., Madison, WI 53704. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Todd Anderson Sensei, Kyoshi 7th Dan was a paragon of the martial arts ideal. He lived as a true karateka and touched the hearts of his many students. His martial spirit was exemplified by his great enthusiasm and dedication to training and teaching others. Indeed, Todd Sensei, as he was affectionately known, was a great ambassador for the ISKKF as exemplified by his loyalty and travelling to spread the word. Todd, Carole and his students were always a permanent fixture at our many summer camps over the years. He was taken from us too soon. He will always be in our thoughts. Rest in peace my brother. Todd is certainly going to be missed. He was always a big hit with the children at martial seminars….and with the adults. His infectious smile and enthusiasm made him a popular instructor. Personally, he was one of my dearest friends. We always had adventurous road trips up to northern Wisconsin. On the way we spent hours talking martial arts history and excited to train with our friends. I’m going to miss him. Rest In Peace Todd 🙏🏼

Sensei Anderson was my daughters first karate instructor. His energy during classes was amazing. His teaching style was inspiring, and he loved it when we brought our baby to class to see the other kids. He was a joy to be around and a great conversationalist. I was honored to have my daughter learn from him. He taught her what honor and respect meant, he taught her how to respect her parents and those around her….I’m forever grateful for having had the opportunity to meet such a wonderful and energetic instructor. May he Rest In Peace and his soul be blessed in heaven. We will miss him sorely and will be praying for his family. We love you Todd! ;(
