Buddy Lee Fernow

WISCONSIN DELLS - Buddy Lee Fernow, age 73, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at William S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital. He was born on March 27, 1948, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Elmer and Rita (Greer) Fernow.

After high school he entered the military and did a tour in Vietnam. During the tour, Buddy and Barbara became pen pals. Once Bud was discharged, he later married Barbara (Holden) Fernow. When he met Barb, she took him dancing and he learned very quickly from her. This was the start of their 53-year wonderful marriage. Bud and Barb enjoyed traveling the country roads on their motorcycles and going on camping trips with their family. He enjoyed spending his weekends in Wisconsin Dells, where he and Barb later called home. Bud was an avid reader and enjoyed reading military, history, and political books.

Buddy is survived by wife, Barbara; daughters, Dawn Fernow and Kimberlee Fernow; granddaughter, Anna Jacob; brothers, Ricky Fernow and David Holden; brother-in-law, Eldon "Jerry" (Alice) Holden; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnny Fernow; and sister, Vickey Fernow.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
