Obituary
CROSS PLAINS - Robert Leo “Bob” Hollfelder passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at University Hospital in Madison. He was born Dec. 16, 1944, to Arthur and Anne (Meier) Hollfelder. Bob attended St Mary’s grade school in Pine Bluff and graduated from Middleton High School in 1963. He married Rayellen Legris on Oct. 3, 1981. She joined him on the family farm that he owned and operated his entire life.
In the early years, Bob raised hogs and had a dairy farm operation. In his later years he cash cropped with his nephews, which he enjoyed. Bob was an excellent farmer and very particular. He was one of the “Bluffers” who enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. Bob also enjoyed watching Home Talent baseball and any Wisconsin sports on TV. He especially looked forward to his daily drives to various Mount Horeb and Cross Plains' businesses to have coffee or lunch and share in the latest news with the locals.
Bob is survived by Rayellen, his wife of 40 years; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Leonard Klubertanz of Cross Plains, Wis.; a stepson, Robert Blum (Sallie) of Atlanta, Ga.; his grandson, Cody (Mary Kate) Blum of Charleston, S.C.; his two great-granddaughters, Britton and Emma; and his special nieces and nephews, Julie Michlig, Steve, Jeff, Dan, Dave, Dennis and Susie Klubertanz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Anne; and his in-laws, Ray and Ellen (Toots) Legris.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, with Father Scott Jablonski presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday. There will be no luncheon afterward.
The family is very grateful for the love and support of so many good friends and neighbors over the years, from those who helped on the farm, to those who assisted during his illnesses later in life. Bob was a very special guy who was liked and respected by all who knew him. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
