John W. Richardson

OREGON - John W. Richardson, age 80, of Oregon, passed away on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022. He was born on March 30, 1941, in Dodgeville, Wis., the son of Herman and Alice (Harrington) Richardson. John graduated from Spring Green High School in 1959 and married Charlotte Lakan Richardson on May 21, 1966, in Ottawa, Ill.

John worked as a dairy man for Bancroft Dairy for 45 years, retiring in 2003.

John enjoyed being an outdoorsman. Whether he was working in his garden or spending time at the cabin, if he was outdoors, he was happy. John loved Wisconsin sports and attending his grandkids activities. He was a dedicated member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church.

John is survived by his wife, Charlotte; three sons, Bryan (Marianne) Richardson, Dennis (Stacy) Richardson, and Christopher (Megan) Richardson; daughter, Anne (John) Murray; five grandchildren, Samantha (Mitch Byrne) Richardson, Nikolis (April Barr) Richardson, Kash (Brooklyn) Murray, Henrik Richardson and Ella Murray; two sisters, Darlene (Ray) White and Mary Boone; and brother, Robert (Bonnie) Richardson. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Burial will be held at Town of Dunn Burying Ground. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday.
 

The family wishes to thank the staff of Agrace HospiceCare for the wonderful care and support they gave to John. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John’s name may be made to Holy Mother of Consolation or Agrace HospiceCare.
