I read this obituary earlier today. I felt it was an exceptional and loving tribute, one Doris herself would have felt the love and been honored to read. She spent so many years of her life as a widow and gave so much of herself and time to others, unselfish, making many friends along the way. When we spoke she never complained which I felt was such a credit to her positive attitude. I really enjoyed the few conversations I had with Doris when I first met her after my oldest Granddaughter Erika, introduced me to her husband’s (Dalton) maternal Grandma. I found her life so interesting. I was a captivated audience and wanted to learn more. She left such an unrivaled impression and a place in my heart, I will never forget those too few conversations. Knowing her was a blessing if even a short time. I will always hold our conversations close to my heart. GOD BLESS YOU DORIS AND REST IN PEACE, IN HEAVEN. Bonnie Jeanne Ehler

I met Doris nearly a year ago through our neighborhood network. I was instantly drawn to her kindness and personable nature.. and her lovely smile. She reminded me so much of my mother that I had lost recently. She was an active, interesting and warm lady that I so enjoyed spending time with. I felt like I was with my mom. My last visit with Doris was sitting outside a Culver’s on a beautiful sunny day enjoying French fries and onion rings. When pondering getting a strawberry milkshake She said “let’s do it, you only live once!” I’m so glad we spent our last time together enjoying the sweet things in life. . A classy lady indeed. I’ll miss you dear Doris.

I had the great honor and pleasure to meet and know "Mom" virtually (via email) through her remarkable daughter, Julie, who together with her mother's indomitable and caring spirit graced my life with many blessings of spirit and creativity. I have one of Mom's BeKind art pieces and an eternal friend. Thank you, Mom, and the wonderful family that loved and took care of you. Jerry Chesnut, one lucky editor and friend
