Obituary

PLATTEVILLE / MOUNT HOREB - Olivia Grace Zimmer, age 21, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on Feb. 2, 2000, in Madison, the daughter of Joshua and Kim (Whitish) Zimmer. Olivia graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 2018 and was attending UW-Platteville.

Olivia was a fun-loving and independent spirit with a beautiful bright smile that would light up a room. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she was a great role model.

If you knew Olivia, you would quickly learn that MUSH (Modern United States History) was her least favorite subject at Mt. Horeb High School. Playing soccer and being on the Mt. Horeb High School Homecoming Court in the fall of 2017 were some of her favorite memories. In her spare time, Olivia also worked at Schubert's Café and Miller’s Grocery Store in Mt. Horeb.

As a little girl, she tortured every cat around because she wanted to love them. She never knew a dog that she didn’t want.

There was no such thing as a lousy picture of her. She loved water, sunshine, and tanning, but couldn’t wait for it to snow. She counted down the days until Christmas.

She loved fishing with Grandpa Whitish, eating pizza with Grandpa Jim, but hated dad’s teasing her with spicy food.

She did the Polar Plunge with her mom and ran several races with her, including a half marathon. Recently, her mom had joined her working at the Kwik Trip in Mt. Horeb while Olivia was attending college.

She will always be remembered for her loving nature, her pride of being a big sister to Mandy, Julia, Emett and Otto and the hope she had for a beautiful future.

Olivia is survived by her mother, Kim Zimmer; father, Joshua (Jamie) Zimmer; two sisters, Mandy Rowley and Julia Zimmer; two brothers, Emett Zimmer and Otto Zimmer; grandparents, Dean and Jane Whitish; grandfather, James Zimmer; grandmother, Shirley (Lois Peart) Zimmer; uncles and aunts, Jason (Jodi) Whitish, Aaron (Rachel) Zimmer, and Sarah (Ken) Bunton; and many cousins, relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at Perry Lutheran Church, 1057 WI-78 Trunk, Mount Horeb, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022. Visitation will be held at Gunderson Camacho Mount Horeb Funeral and Cremation Care, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
