Obituary
MADISON - Floyd Eugene Pollock, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on Oct. 6, 1942, in Madison, Wis., the son of Archie Leroy Pollock and Geneva Belle (Wood) Pollock.
Floyd graduated from Madison East High School in 1960. Following graduation, he started working for Madison KIPP and continued there for the next 42 years. It was only his second job ever! Floyd was also an avid sports fan, and he loved to watch the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers.
In 1979, Floyd met Joann Mabel Frank, fell in love, and wholeheartedly embraced his new family. He and Joann went on to marry on June 2, 1985, and were married for 38 years.
Floyd is survived by his daughters, Brenda Mosher (John Brown) and Dawn (Mark) Mortimer; grandchildren, Jake Gehrmann, Joseph Gehrmann, Matthew Mortimer (Melanie Allen) and Megan Mortimer; his favorite nephew, Jeff (Candi) Hron; and his sister, Cheryl (Jim) Starker. In addition to his wife, Joann, Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and seven of his siblings.
A service of remembrance will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, with refreshments served during the gathering.
