MOUNT HOREB - Bertha Mae Thompson, age 78, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Aug. 27, 1943, in Summit, the daughter of Harold and Blanch Wade.
Bertha attended Mazomanie School. She married Bob “Creed” Thompson who preceded her in death in 1987. Bertha worked as a machine operator for Janlins.
Bertha loved watching racing, listening to Elvis, doing crossword puzzles, reading, driving trucks and spending time with her grandkids. She was sassy and fun, and had very good aim with a shoe.
Bertha is survived by three sons, August (Carrie) Danz, Kendall Danz and Marcus Danz; daughter, LuAnn (Lavern Stampfli) Wild; two stepsons, Bruce Danz and Kevin Danz; stepdaughter, Tina (Dennis) Noggle; sister, Mary Lou (Verlin) Klingaman; many many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Sharon, Ruth-Ann and Lee; and her dog, Smurf. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Betty (Edwin) Schroeder; and brother, James Wade.
