Dear Beth and Family, I am so sorry to see Jeanne's obit in the Post Bulletin. She was a very warm and interesting lady. I enjoyed the times with her in book group. She was the first author I ever met. I treasure knowing her and her talent. My sympathies to all of you. Pauline Varley

Fondness is felt when I think of Aunt Jeanne. It began with my first introduction to her and family when I visited in Bangkok in 1971. Limin, Ruth, Esther, Grace and Paul were there, with Jesse and Steve in school in the US. She hosted tours of sights and entertainment. The environment in her home is most memorable - lots of smiles, laughter, singing, piano playing by the girls - an overall feeling of happiness, a chapel. And she spoke fluent Thai. Then and in the years since, Aunt Jeanne always had a welcoming smile, a zest for life, interested in all things, was a great teller of stories of her experiences from Brussels to Bangkok and back, always working on a project, writing, with a strong faith. We exchanged Christmas cards (hers often with prayers for us from religious orders), sweets, and small checks for our boys when they were young. Aunt Jeanne is remembered fondly, with a special connection to being the last of her generation of the LeGrave/Murphy family. John Verthein

I took care of Jeanne's feet for many years at the Sen. Ctr. and so enjoyed all our talks ---- I found her two books the first or the year and started reading them again -- wondering how she was -----now I know ----she is better than she's ever been for she was indeed "Ready"! I will look forward to seeing her again some day -----and we will have more good talks!! His blessings of comfort on your hearts. Kay Plotner
